New York State - free air conditioners for qualified individuals

Governor Hochul announced yesterday a new program offering eligible low-income New Yorkers free air conditioning units to help them stay safe during the summer heat. It is on a first-come, first-served basis until early June or until funding runs out. The other option for residents is to visit their Wayne County HEAP Contact at the Department of Social Services, 77 Water Street, Lyons, NY for more information. The phone number is 315-946-4881 and they are open Monday-Friday 8:30-12:00 pm, 12:30-4:30 pm.
